Hello David from another Dave. I remember reading your stories in “The Stripes” over the years in Oki. A long-time Okinawa resident (29 years), I am currently in the deep south down here in Mississippi for family reasons. Flew in on April 22. Looks like I’ll be here for a bit, as my father is not in good condition. I will return to that island paradise as soon as is feasible, as I left my heart there.
Just wanted to let you know I appreciate your poetry and that it is therapy for my soul, especially the Okinawa-related ones.
From one Bukowski fan to another, keep on keepin’ on.
